I often paint those who have crossed over the rainbow bridge. I accompany them on their new journey, examining the new things they show me on the other side.
But lately, those who are about to come into our world have been persistently coming into my paintings. And not just coming, but returning. Each one manifests differently. Some are contemplative and unhurried, some choose companionship and sights on their journey, while others hurry, racing through the winds between worlds as if trying to make it to the appointed meeting time.
This pair came with a sense of purpose. White was the first to manifest, calmly and confidently allowing himself to be seen and examining his surroundings. Black Lady, although she manifested second, was very anxious and rushed because she was worried about being late. She knows for sure that she promised someone to come, and although she doesn't remember who will be waiting for her, she knows the place and time of the meeting.
Both dogs asked to be painted separately, but with their paths connected. Perhaps someone is waiting to meet two old friends. Or maybe they just need to stick together for now.
